Children’s Christmas Program “The Nazareth Evening News” The town of Bethlehem is on the verge of a world changing event, the birth of our Savior. A young couple expecting a baby has traveled to Bethlehem to be counted as part of the Roman census. As Mary’s baby is about to be born, Joseph looks for a place for them to stay. The audience will get to experience the events of that night through the reporting of the Nazareth Evening News. In addition, field reporters will bring breaking news updates, interview eyewitnesses who saw the choir of angels, and report on the census “debacle.” Shepherds, Wiseman, and even Mary and Joseph will be interviewed by eager reporters excited to get the story out. This version of the nativity story creatively and humorously mixes biblical truths with present day elements and jargon. Practices will be held each Sunday morning during our Children’s Church at 10:20 am and again on Sunday evenings during Youth Group at 5:30 pm. There will be additional practices for speaking rolls are Wednesdays November 6th, 13th, 20th and December 4th from 2:45-4:00 pm. First dress rehearsal will be held Saturday December 7th 1:00-3:00pm. A Final Dress rehearsal will be Sunday December 8th at 9:20 am before the performance. The performance will be at 10:20 am during our morning worship. Additional practices will be scheduled if needed. If your child needs a ride please let Corinna know. The Angel Tree Project We will again be putting up our Angel Tree to help those in need throughout our community. This year we are again partnering with Granville Wells Elementary and Western Boone Jr./Sr. High School to provide gifts for children. The school has again suggested a $50 per child so each tag will be marked for a specific item by age/size with a suggested dollar limit. All gifts will need to be returned by the designated time unwrapped. Donations of wrapping paper, bows and tape will also be accepted. Also, again this year, our tree will also contain tags for $25.00 gift cards to be used to provide gas, food and other items from Walmart, Kroger and local gas stations. These cards help meet the emergency needs of our neighbors throughout Boone County and will be used here at the church and through LOVE, INC. There will also be tags asking for personal care items such as deodorant, shampoo, and soap to be donated to the food pantry at Western Boone Jr./Sr. High School. This is such a rewarding way to give!

The Little Drummer Girl Live Nativity to be held! We are excited to announce that our 4th LIVE Nativity entitled “Little Drummer Girl” will be held on Sunday December 15th. This year, the retelling of the nativity story is through the eyes of a little girl from Bethlehem named, Miriam who is the first learns the good news of Jesus’ birth from Mary! Excitedly she goes throughout the town trying to tell the people what has happened, but no one will listen. Finally, when the shepherds arrive from the hillside seeking Jesus, she leads them to the stable where the infant lays. To honor Jesus, she offers all she has, a song on her drum. The nativity will be told at 4:30 pm and again at 6:30 pm at the Neese’s Farm located near Thorntown. We will be needing volunteers to be characters in the play, parking attendants, greeters and hostesses to serve refreshments. We will also need help with set up, take down, and provide donations of refreshments. Sign up will beginning November 3rd. This is a great outreach to our community, so invite your family, friends and neighbors.
