Annual Advance Community Labor Day Service at ACCC We will be hosting this year’s annual Community Labor Day Worship Service on Sunday, September 1st under our pavilion. Hymn Sing at 10:00 am, Service at 10:30 am
All Church Fishing Rodeo at Beck’s Pond We will host our 2nd Annual Fishing Rodeo on Sunday, September 15th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Beck’s Pond west of Advance. (For direction, please contact the church office.) We will be awarding prizes for the Biggest Fish, Smallest Fish, The Most Caught (#) and for the One that Got-a-way. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear. If you do not have appropriate gear, contact Steve before the event. This is sure to be a fun afternoon whether you fish or not, so spectators are welcomed! Bring your lawn chairs!
Following the fishing contest, we will have a wiener roast with the meat, drink and paper products provided. Adults attending are asked to bring a finger food to share.
This event is open to all ages, so come out and join us!
National Back to Church Day Sunday, September 15th is National Back to Church across the United States and we want you to invite your family, friends and neighbors to join us for worship. Whether new friends, old friends, or someone you just met, give them a call and invite them to church! It has been proven that the most effective evangelism is done one on one, so be one to contact one!
We encourage you to make a phone call or to send a card. We will have invitational post cards available if you would like send one. They are located in the church lobby.
You’ll never know if they will come if you don’t ask! Let’s invite!
September Outdoor Service & Church Picnic On Sunday, September 22nd we will host our last outdoor service for the season in our pavilion, weather permitting, at 10:20 am. Sunday School will take place as usual at 9:20 am in the church building. We will also still have Children’s worship indoors during our 10:20 am service.
Immediately following our services, we will enjoy our annual church picnic with a pot of soup beans and corn bread provided. We will also provide the drinks and paper products and ask each family to bring a well basket of meats, side dishes and or desserts to share.
We will move inside if the weather does not cooperate, so come and join us!
Crown Pointe Service On September29th, we will host the 5th Sunday Worship Service at Crown Pointe Assisted Living facility in Lebanon at 2:00 pm. All are welcomed to attend. Operation Christmas Shoe Box Packing- Packing will be on October 5th at 10:00 am for anyone willing to help.
Couples Progressive Dinner Road Rally On Saturday, October 5th, we will be hosting a unique and fun dining experience beginning at 4:00 pm at the church. Participants (18 years old or older) will travel in groups of 4 or 6 in cars across the country side following clues that will lead them to a mystery destination where they will be treated a one course of a 4-course themed meal. This will be a competition based on time, correct answers and of course adherence to the rules and laws! Sign up in the church foyer beginning September 8th.
1st Annual All Church Harvest Party This year, we are kicking off something new! In addition to our usual truck or treat, we will be offering fun games, food and even Hayrides! This event will be held outdoors, weather permitting, on Sunday, October 27th beginning at 4:00pm. We will be needing volunteers to donated candy, supervise games, donate food and of course decorate a trunk. We will have activities for the entire family. Watch for volunteer and donation sheets beginning October 6th.
Christmas is Coming! Christmas is just 4 months away and we are beginning the planning for Christmas at Advance. We will again offer a children’s Christmas program entitled, Nazareth Evening News, to be held on Sunday, December 8th along with our annual Christmas Breakfast during our Sunday School hour. Our 4th Annual Live Nativity will also be scheduled with the date to be announced. We will again tell the familiar story in a different and unique way. This production is open to all ages of volunteers including acting, hosting, parking, and food preparation. This is a great community outreach and proclamation of our Lord’s birth.
